Last year, sweet mama Ibu went to bed on Earth Day – but we know it wasn’t just any night for this expectant mother - who gave birth to your favorite Zoo baby, Khaleesi, overnight.

Now, one year later, it’s Khaleesi’s Earth Day Birthday at Party, and you’re invited! This will definitely be El Paso’s WILDEST birthday party!

We’re gonna party like it’s your birthday Earth Day weekend, Saturday and Sunday April 23 and 24 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.! The animals are all getting in on the fun, with special piñatas, presents and special birthday treats! In addition to all the birthday excitement, we’re also celebrating with a Party for the Planet, at the largest combined Earth Day event in North America!

Khaleesi can’t wait to come out and celebrate with all of you, and neither can we! Khaleesi and her Earth Day Birthday party are super special to the El Paso Zoo. Zoo staff has been working hard on many fronts for years contributing to orangutan conservation and research, and Khaleesi represents a very important component of that effort. The birth of a Sumatran orangutan at the El Paso Zoo could be one of the most important conservation achievements in the history of the Zoo! So, we have a lot to celebrate – especially watching Khaleesi reach another milestone, her first birthday party!

With BIG fun for everyone – from giant games and birthday bingo to a dance party and live entertainment … we bet your little shorties will look like our little shorty this when this can’t miss celebration is over!
